Content:

1. Who did you interview and what house are they in?
A: Daniel Gamboa, East House

2. What ideas do you have for your senior project and why?
A: Well the career that i'm looking forward to is electrical engineer, so I want to do something based on it because it will help get a better understanding of my career and help me decide if its what I really want.

3. What do you plan to do for your summer 10 hour mentorship experience?
A: My neighbor and his father both work in the Career that I want so i plan on asking if they can be my mentors to see if i can complete my 10 community service learning hours.

4. What do you hope to see or expect to see in watching the 2013 2-hour presentations?
A: Hopefully they will give me a clear idea of how to tackle the project when its my turn and i will be able to see what I should and shouldn't do so that I can prepare on time.

5. What questions do you have that I can answer about senior year or senior project (or what additional information did you tell them about senior year or senior project)?
A: How is senior year in work and project wise, how organized do I need to be so that I can keep on track, any ideas?

Response:
Senior year in work and wise because it gives you a different kind of experience that you might not be used to such as working on your own, being more independent and getting to meet and be in contact with different people outside of school in order to work with them. You should always be on top of things and during the summer be attentive to your e-mail and create a log or something to put your 10 hours on and update it everytime you do something, it'll be easier on you and a lot less stressful when the day school starts gets closer.

Follow Up Question:
So what do you mean to be in contact with different people outside of school?

Response:
People like your mentor, whoever you work with for independent component and the people you decide to interview.

    UEFA Champions League Final

There were four semifinalists until today. Now there is the definite finalist, Borussia Dortmund, and the remaining semi-finalsits, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. There is only one spot left and both have to fight until the end to obtain the last ticket to Wembley Stadium.

May 1, 2013 (Camp Nou Stadium)
On this day, Barcelona is playing in their home field with a 4-0 disadvantage that they brought from Germany. Barcelona's only option was to win with a 5 goal difference without Bayern scoring any goals, in order to move on to the next round. The first half did not seem so good since it ended in a 0-0 draw. Coming into the second half, it all went downhill for Barcelona. Arjen Robben scores the first goal, then Pique scored an own goal and it ended with Muller scoring the 3rd and final goal to seal the match and allow Bayern to move on to the finals. With a crushing 7-0 aggregate, Bayern is the second and final finalist. Barcelona's dream of moving on was over, and Bayern dreams to be the next UEFA Champions League Champion.

    UEFA Champions League Final

These are the four semi finalists of the UEFA Champions League 2012-13

April 30, 2013 (Estadio Santiago Bernabeu)
The first finalist of the UEFA Champions League has been determined. German team, Borussia Dortmund, is the first team to move on to the finals after being Real Madrid 4-1 in the first leg, and losing 2-0 in the second leg. The 4-3 aggregate gives this team their first finals in this competition since 1977. Robert Lewandowski had an amazing first game with 4 goals and they almost threw the game away when receiving two goals in the last 10 minutes of the second match and only being one goal away from elimination. Even then, it was not enough for Madrid to move on to the next round.

    Blog 21: Independent Component 2

    Content:

    Literal:

    A. I, Salvador Gutierrez, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
    B. My coaches. Coach Rodrigo Jativa and Genaro are my sources.
    C. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Am8FNtUFpylUdEc4ZmNTU1ZMRzhldUFxMHF1WUZvY2c#gid=0
    D. I played league championship games with my team on the weekends and also trained with them twice a week (Rarely once). We did different drills, exercises and worked on different strategies and tactics throughout each session. We practiced a lot of ball possession, shooting, and offensive tactics. Many drills such as 25 yard sprints and dynamic stretching were meant to help us stay fit and constant with our conditioning.

    Interpretive:
(playing left defense while keeping an eye on the ball, but I had to be careful the guy from behind me didn't make the sprint and get passed me.)

(Getting ready for the second half against Colima)

(Working the offside trap tactic, I tried to make the line with the other defenders and after, that play led to the first goal of the game.)

(Had to keep an eye on the ball and once the offense made a run for the ball, I had to pressure him so he wouldn't get a clear shot. The play ended in a goal kick.)

(I was on the left side, but had to go jelp put pressure on their midfielders)

(Started pushing up the field as the team pressured the opponent starting fromtheir side of the field. I had a close eye on #10)

(waiting to see where that loose ball ends up, if it ends in our posession, I open up, if not, I close in on the opponent and pressure him so he won't make the pass.)

(Getting intrsuctions from Center Back, Trevor, to open up and keep calm in order to control the ball more.)

(Keeping the pressure on the opponents, moving up the field which cost one of our players a yellow card.)

(On defense, waiting for the opponents free kick. Had to be close to the opponent in order to avoid the play from growing or becoming dangerous for our team.)

(I'm watching the ball because a foul has been committed. My job as the defender is to stay back and open up and the rest of the team moves up the field.)

(I try to make the sprint as quickly as possible in order to not give the defender time to react. They might have tried an offside trap, but I waiting for the perfect moment to make the run.)

(Being left wing I play all the way on the left side of the field and am moving up, although I go up and down the field constantly.)

(Making my way onto the field after a quick warm up and stretching. We lost this game 5 - 2.)

    Applied:

This independent component helps me with my answer on using the 4-2-3-1 formation because it was our main formation. We never lost a game while using this formation. This was when our ball posession and goal scoring opportunities were at its best. This helped guide us victories against teams such as Atlas and Colima. It also helped support my answer on doing endurance exercises to create the stamina necessary to play the whole game as close to peak level as possible. Everytime we did the exercises at training, it would be a pain, but during the game, it would take a while for it to hit me that I can't play much longer. The weeks that I only practiced once a week had a negative effect on me. In the game of that weekend, I was getting into half of the second half and I was gasping for breath. I really felt the difference. The rest of the team also seemed to be affected by it. We lost that game 5-2. The score itself says it all.
